Printed in Paris in 1754 by la Compagnie, dedicated to the Prince of Lorraine.

Octavo-folio volumes, contemporary leather bindings with raised bands; labels on the covers, added by a former owner, indicate the author.

The first volume is a fundamental work on classical equitation, considered one of the “bibles” of horse training. The first edition was published in 1733. It includes a portrait of the author and numerous engravings, two of which are folding plates depicting riders. Decorative headpieces are also present. The volume is in good condition, with minor wormholes at the lower right corner of pages and two partial losses of page margins, also at the lower right.

The second volume is in excellent condition, with contemporary leather binding, printer’s device on the first page, decorative initials, and two folding plates.
