An important 17th-century paper manuscript volume containing a collection of diplomatic reports, speeches, and instructions concerning the Holy See. The document represents a primary source for the study of Baroque geopolitics and the relations between the Republic of Venice and the Papal States.

Physical characteristics:

Binding: Contemporary limp full vellum binding with remnants of fabric ties. Manuscript title on the spine: “Relationi della Corte di Roma – M.S.”

Script: Elegant cursive handwriting of the period, clearly legible, in brown ink.


Condition:
The manuscript is in good overall condition. The vellum binding shows natural signs of age and some waviness. Internally, the leaves are intact with wide margins; slight browning is present but does not affect the legibility of the text.
