Three-quarter folio volume, contemporary leather binding with raised bands. Decorative initials and fine woodcut ornaments at the beginning and end of each section, with rich full-page engravings. Three large folding plates are present: the first between pages 38 and 39, the second between pages 42 and 43, and the third between pages 50 and 51, each on folded sheets larger than the volume itself.

Complete work, in good condition. The volume describes the functions of the various military cavalry corps (Guards of the Body, Musketeers, Mounted Grenadiers, Dragoons, Carabiniers, etc.) and their methods of training. The book is recorded in archival sources, is rare, and this copy is complete.
