Paris, Chez Grange, 1747 [MDCCXLVII]. Duodecimo. Contemporary full leather binding with gilt titles and floral tooling on the spine. Engraved frontispiece with a richly composed allegorical scene featuring putti, rearing horses, and a noble coat of arms.

Details of the work:
This is an 18th-century French edition based on the celebrated works of William Cavendish, Duke of Newcastle, one of the most influential figures in the history of horsemanship and the High School of riding. The work is presented as a fundamental treatise on the cavalry discipline of the period, published “Avec Approbation & Privilege du Roi.”

Condition:
A very well-preserved copy. The original leather binding shows only minor wear to the spine but retains the gilt tooling intact. Internally, the pages are fresh, with sharp printing on high-quality paper.
