Printed in The Hague (La Haye) in 1693, by Henry Van Buldren, bookseller at the Pooten, at the sign of Mezeray.

Octavo-folio volume, contemporary rigid leather binding with raised bands on the spine. A label placed by a former owner on the front cover indicates the title, author, and year of printing.

This is the last edition printed and deals with the duties of cavalry officers, including a compendium of royal ordinances from 1661 to 1669. The edition is expanded with a treatise on the duties of men in war. The volume opens with a fine engraved frontispiece depicting an officer on the battlefield.

Decorative headpieces and initials are present, and the work is illustrated with ten folding plates, some showing measuring instruments and their use, others depicting defensive systems and cavalry formations for battle.

Volume in good condition, with minor traces of humidity on a few pages.
