Sixteenth-folio volume, limp vellum binding with handwritten notes and numbers on the cover; spine with a possible title.
The book is divided into two parts: the first addresses geometry and other topics related to military architecture; the second deals with methods for determining the dimensions of surfaces and bodies and the construction of fortresses. A brief treatise on trigonometry follows.
The volume contains numerous calculation examples, drawings of geometrical figures, and defensive works. Decorative initials and end-of-section ornaments appear in the first part.
The work is by a renowned military engineer and architect serving the Savoy Court. In good condition, with some browning on a few pages.
