Edition: Second edition, significantly expanded and enriched in its iconographic apparatus compared to the first edition of 1766.
Volume I (Genoa): Contains the celebrated topographical plan of the city “within the sole circuit of its old walls,” surveyed by Giacomo Brusco and engraved by Guidotti.
Volume II (Rivieras): Devoted to the artistic beauties of the Rivieras of Ponente and Levante; it often includes portraits of Ligurian artists and an overall view of the city.
Distinctive Feature: The coat of arms of the city of Genoa (griffins supporting the cross-bearing shield) adorns the title page of the first volume.
